Batu-bato sa langit, you know the rest

/bitch mode on

You who claim one thing yet your actions speak otherwise, you are absolutely pathetic. I have come to think that you do that just to get attention, to PLEASE everybody, and to make everyone around you think that you are likeable. Well, you’re not. Have an opinion, geddemit.

And stop being selfish while you’re at it. You make me sick because I’ve come to see who you really are and what you’re intentions are. Just this once, please, be true to other people. I know it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE for you to be true to yourself, but for the sake of others, and for the sake of your so-called friends, please do so.

Ignorance is bliss, right? So from now I’m going to ignore you. I don’t need a friend like you. I don’t need SOMEONE like you, period.

In other news, I just got back from more than four grueling hours of coverage in Bicutan, Taguig. Work and I have a love-hate relationship. My stomach is doing some funny flips right now, and that’s not a good sign, mind you. I’m feeling sick IN my stomach — literally.

Sigh

I just want to go to the bonfire tomorrow, see old friends again, and forget that I am a part of this whole sham of the employment-sector.

On love, relationship, and cheese

Posted by Abi Kwok on September 19, 2008

Disclaimer: this is a me-talking-to-myself post. It may not make sense to you, but I’m trying to have a conversation with myself. So, don’t ask 😉

When I think of love, I always try to look back at my Philosophy and Theology classes. Too bad I got the wrong professors and I missed out on some of the important lessons in life. But I’ve always looked at love as simple…it’s only us that make it complex.

Maybe I’ve seen too many sappy movies (and cried over them a lot, too), but I think love, more than just a feeling, is a form of appreciation. You appreciate his/her laugh (even if he/she laughs like a pig, you know, that snort snort sound), hazel eyes (or blue, green, what have you), even his/her feet. I think these are the things sorely lacking in relationships today.

Maybe if couples just learn to appreciate each other more, then things will at least be positive for the both of them.

I’ve often asked myself, “How do you know that your SO loves you still?” and I’ve always found myself staring at a blank wall. I can think, “Oh he loves me if he does this and that,” but maybe things are different for him. It’s hard trying to put yourself in the shoes of the other, maybe that’s why many relationships end in a bad note.

It’s really hard trying to demystify relationships, let alone your partner. That’s where trust comes in. But trust is easier said than done, right? No matter how much you tell yourself that you trust your partner, somehow distrust always comes in. It’s like it’s the devil inside you, telling you to think otherwise.

I’m blabbering. So I will end this post.

If you haven’t seen the movie Enchanted, then I highly suggest that you do. I particularly love this song, That’s How You Know, sung by Amy Adams. Sure, the song is sappy and melt-in-your-mouth cheesy, but the song really is simple and true: we all just want to be appreciated. Check it out:

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) warned the public against a group selling fake commemorative license plates of the agency.

In a statement, PDEA director general Dionisio Santiago said the modus operandi of the group Citizen Anti-Drug Action Group (CADAG), led by a certain retired Brigadier General Leoncio Daniega, was to sell PDEA commemorative license plates at P10,000 each.

The group was apparently telling motorists the license plates would give them “immunity from apprehension by any traffic enforcement units,” Santiago said.

But he denied these claims, saying, “This is an act of grave misrepresentation and is not in any way sanctioned or supported by PDEA.”

Santiago urged the public to be vigilant and to report anyone posing as PDEA personnel through the PDEA hotlines 929-7902; 928-3534; 928-4060; 928-0090; and 928-6829 local 0.

MANILA, Philippines — A woman driven by jealousy attempted suicide in the municipality of Magdalena in the province of Laguna early Thursday morning but was saved by her neighbors, a police official said.

The 35-year-old drank pesticide in Banaan village around 10:30 a.m. because she suspected her husband of seeing another woman, said Magdalena police chief Senior Inspector Raul Sandoval.

But the victim was spotted by neighbors and rushed to the Laguna Provincial Hospital where, as of posting time, she is in stable condition, Sandoval said.

Sandoval said police records showed the woman had reported to police last August 6 that her husband was allegedly having an affair.

It was also in Magdalena where a woman killed her three young children and then herself with toilet bowl cleanser on September 9.
