MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has vowed to “keep an eye on” and monitor all activities of newly sworn-in Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Jesus Verzosa with regards to human rights promotion and violations.

Zamboanga City council told to apologize to journalist

MANILA, Philippines — International and local media groups on Monday demanded that the Zamboanga City council apologize to a journalist it had declared “persona non grata” for filing what the local legislature claimed were “unfavourable news reports.”
