MANILA, Philippines–Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a drug and prostitution den masking as a hotel in Caloocan City on Saturday, leading to the arrest of six suspects, an official said on Monday.

PDEA agents also rescued six women, four of whom were minors, during a buy-bust operation at Victory Lodge located at 2nd Avenue at around 1:30 a.m., according to Major Ferdinand Marcelino, director of PDEA’s Special Enforcement Service (SES).

PDEA agents received a report that the Victory Lodge was being used for selling methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and trafficking minors for prostitution.

During the buy-bust, PDEA agents apprehended hotel owners and staff.

Police identified the owners as Miguelito Joaquin and Jennifer Joaquin, and staff as Melvin Gervero, Jerry Delorino, Leo Luena and Christopher Mayrina.

Those rescued were Vicky Manoso, 26 and Myra Decio, 20. The names of the four minors were withheld.

The hotel owners were charged with violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), while the employees were charged with violation of Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den) under Article II of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs law.
