MANILA, Philippines — Traffic is expected to be heavy around Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday, the 18th anniversary of the Philippine National Police (PNP), and motorists have been advised to take alternative routes.

The PNP public information office on Friday said Camp Crame’s Santolan gate will be closed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday for the flagraising and wreathlaying ceremonies, to be led by PNP Director General Jesus Verzosa and Secretary of Interior and Local Government Ronaldo Puno.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is among the dignitaries expected to attend the PNP anniversary.

Motorists who wish to enter the PNP headquarters at that time are advised to use the EDSA and West Crame gates.

Traffic is also expected to be heavy along Boni Serrano and EDSA near Camp Crame.
