MANILA, Philippines — Sudden heavy rains mid-afternoon on Tuesday resulted in gutter-deep floods and heavy traffic in some areas of Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

Roger Nicodemus, MMDA Metrobase flood control operator, said that as of posting time, gutter-deep floods have been reported in the following areas: MIA domestic road, Roxas Boulevard-Ninoy Aquino road in Pasay City, northbound side of Coastal Road, MIA-Tambo bridge, and EDSA-Zamora southbound.

All roads remain passable to all types of vehicles but traffic has slowed down in the affected areas, Nicodemus said.

Meanwhile, traffic is heavy in the northbound side of EDSA, particularly at EDSA-Ayala.
